Uniqlo became known for its well-made, affordable basics - and its exciting design cooperations. It was started by the German show designer Jil Sander, who from 2009 to 2011 launched her own label +J as the creative director. Colleagues like Phillip Lim, Alexander Wang, Christophe Lemaire and JW Anderson, who all represent both individuality as well as wearability, followed her with coops. But you have to hurry to catch one of the launches of the always limited special collections. Thanks to very good value for money, the designer items are always sold out quickly.
